Summer Mission Trip - July 13-20, 2019
Why are we Going?
In Jesus’ great commission He calls His followers to “go” and make disciples. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others.” In Matthew 25:40, Jesus says “whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” For the past 10 years, we have been serving in this community along the border. We are going back this summer to serve the people of Progreso.
Where are we going?
We are headed to the Rio Grande River Valley to work in the Progreso community. There are many small communities in need of ministry. We are staying near Harlingen, TX but will be serving in the Progreso area. We will not be going into Mexico. Our ministry will be on the Texas side of the border.
What will we be doing?
We will be involved in a variety of ministry in Progreso. We will be partnering with a local church in Progreso to serve alongside them in their community. Primarily, we will be working with children through VBS. There will be painting and small work projects, a blockparty, community outreach, and prayer walking.
Where will we stay?
We will be staying at the Cone Oasis Baptist Camp in La Feria, TX. This will be homebase for the week. They will take care of our lodging and meals for the week.
Who is this trip for?
This trip this summer will be geared toward our High School ministry. All incoming 9th graders (fall 2019) and up are invited to join us for this trip. Adults and parents are invited (and needed) as well. Please consider using this week of your summer to serve others in Progreso for Christ.
What is the cost?
The cost of the trip is $250 per person.
